The Ron DeSantis Twitter Campaign Launch Was A Disaster
Ron DeSantis thought that he would be edgy and launch his presidential campaign on Twitter Spaces until everything went wrong.

Ron DeSantis Becomes An SNL Sketch With Elon Musk
Here is a brief summary of how Ron DeSantis’s campaign launch has gone so far:
Twitter Spaces crashed to the point where the start time of the event was delayed.
500,000 people started out trying to listen, but the actual number of listeners as the event was going on was less than 200,000.
Once the Spaces got going, DeSantis was ranting his culture war fatwas, as he called the NAACP a left-wing organization because they issued a travel advisory for black and brown people traveling to Florida.
Gov. DeSantis thought that he was going to be a disruptor by announcing on Twitter, but the technology broke and the event sounded like a low-quality Nazi bro podcast.
The biggest problem with Ron DeSantis’s Twitter Spaces campaign launch was that it was boring, really really boring. It is impossible to see how this dull as watching paint dry culture warrior can possibly defeat Donald Trump.
Ron DeSantis sounds small time, looks small time, and he lacks the presence and charisma to effectively engage voters. DeSantis and his supporting super PAC have raised $200 million, and those people would have been better off setting their money on fire.
The only good that happened for Ron DeSantis is that he didn’t go total weirdo like Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).
DeSantis and Musk complained about the media being in a bubble as they hold an event on a social media platform’s audio-only section. As a bonus, DeSantis attacks the NAACP, and Musk brings up Nazis, which is a great way to appeal to swing state voters.
Audio clip:
It was hard to imagine a presidential campaign launch that was worse than Tim Scott’s until Elon Musk stepped up and said ‘Hold my broken social media platform.’
The event which was supposed to be about DeSantis turned into a bunch of Elon Musk fans thanking him and complaining about Twitter, so Ron DeSantis wasn’t the star of his own presidential campaign launch.
If DeSantis can’t do a podcast without being outshined by Elon Musk, he doesn’t have a prayer against the Category 5 debate chaos of Trump.
Republicans who don’t want Trump to be their nominee better start looking for a new horse to back, because Ron DeSantis is already on his way to the glue factory.

Perhaps this low energy "interview" was a campaign cost saving step and/or an increased income opportunity for Twitter. In any case, it was confusing because of the promotion that preceded it, and it must have been a disappointment to all concerned. Perhaps next time the promotion will be matched by the work of preparation. Yes, Mr. Musk, free speech is worth preparing for. . . .
