Kevin McCarthy is livid that Senate Republicans have negotiated a year-long spending bill to fund the government. McCarthy and House Republicans will have no leverage to threaten a government shutdown.
McCarthy and House Republicans have been grumbling for weeks that Senate Republicans were undercutting them. Senate Republicans have been arguing that they are doing what is right for the country and that anyone who takes governing seriously would vote to fund the government.
Rep. McCarthy threatened to block Senate Republican bills in the House if the Senate GOP supported the omnibus.
